Privacy Policy

The short version

This site has no accounts, no sign-up, no comment box and nothing to buy. It doesn't set cookies, and it doesn't try to work out who you are or follow you to other sites. What follows is the detail, because "we value your privacy" is not information.

What is collected

Two things, neither of which I see individually.

• Server records. Like every website, this one is delivered by a host — Cloudflare — which necessarily receives your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, because a request cannot be answered without them. These are used to serve the page and to guard against attacks and abuse.
• Aggregate visit measurement. This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and records approximate country, device type, referring site and page loading speed. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not fingerprint your browser or track you across other sites. I only ever see totals.

What is not collected

• No name, email address, phone number or postal address — there is nowhere on this site to enter one
• No cookies, local storage or any other data kept on your device
• No advertising or cross-site tracking, and nothing shared with advertising networks
• No profiles, and no automated decisions about you

Who processes it, and where

Cloudflare, Inc. hosts this site and provides the analytics. That means the data described above is processed on Cloudflare's global network, including on servers outside India and outside the European Economic Area. Cloudflare's own privacy policy governs what it does as a provider. No one else receives anything.

How long it is kept

Cloudflare retains detailed measurement data for about seven days, then keeps a reduced, aggregated version for up to six months, after which it is no longer available. I keep no separate copy of anything.

Why this is lawful

Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, the basis is legitimate interest: understanding in aggregate whether anyone is reading, and keeping the site available and secure. Because nothing is stored on your device, no consent banner is required. Where India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act applies, this page serves as the notice of what is processed and why.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to processing, or to complain to a regulator. Since nothing here identifies you individually, there is usually nothing to retrieve — but if you want to ask, write to me and I will answer.

Links to other places

This site links to profiles on X, Instagram, Threads and LinkedIn. Once you follow one of those links you are on their service, under their rules and their privacy policies, not mine.

Children

This site is written for adults thinking about starting a business. It is not directed at children and collects nothing knowingly from them.

Changes

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. There is no version history, so the page you are reading is the current one.
